Introduction
The unique role of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts as derived from the provisions in its Ordinance is 'to foster and provide for training, education and research in the performing and related theatre and entertainment  arts'.

The primary objective of the Academy is to educate and train students to become performing artists and practising professionals to the highest professional standards. To achieve this objective, the academic programmes of the Academy are focused on performance and production as the central learning process. The students of the Academy learn through practising their arts, rather than learning about the arts, and have many opportunities for public performances and practical production work.

The Academy offers academic programmes in the following disciplines:

  • Dance
  • Drama
  • Film and Television
  • Music
  • Theatre and Entertainment Arts
  • Chinese Traditional Theatre
The academic programmes on offer are from post-secondary Diploma level up to Master's Degree level.
