Beginning his professional life in theatre with the renowned Bristol Old Vic Company in England, John became an international lighting designer and theatre educator accumulating over thirty years experience. He has worked as Associate Professor of lighting at Indiana University, USA, and as a visiting lecturer has taught at Yale University USA, the Finnish Theatre Academy, the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, UK., the Royal Academy for Dramatic Art, London and at institutes in Luxembourg, Belgium and Lapland. John has lit over 250 productions world wide with a string of West End shows one of which transferred to New York's Broadway. Locally, John has worked with the Chung Ying Theatre Company and extensively with the Hong Kong Repertory Company and Hong Kong Ballet. He has also worked on numerous architectural lighting projects in Hong Kong, Thailand, Burma and Singapore. John has a book published entitled Create Your Own Stage Lighting.
The professional journal - magazine Lighting & Sound International profiled John and his career in an article in its September 2004 issue. Last year John was nominated, and this year accepted into Who¡¦s Who International of Professionals for inclusion in the Society¡¦s 2006/07 listing.
