Shane Levesque received his D.M.A. in Historical Performance Practice and M.A. in Musicology from Cornell University (New York), where he studied with Malcolm Bilson, Xak Bjerken, Annette Richards, and Neal Zaslaw. He received his M.Mus. in Piano Performance and Pedagogy (Pi Kappa Lambda) from the Peabody Conservatory (Maryland). Shane has given performances and lectures on both historic and modern keyboard instruments in North America, England, the Netherlands, Portugal, Hungary, and Singapore, and he recently published a journal article for the Dutch-Flemish Tijdschrift voor Musiektheorie on nineteenth-century improvised piano preludes. His first place performance at the Canadian National Music Festival for the former Governor General of Canada was broadcast on CBC Radio Two, and he has been a winner of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers¡¦ Young Artist Concert Tour. As a continuo accompanist, he has performed in ensemble programs of Gibbons and Bach with the Cornell Chamber Singers, and Schutz and Cavalli with the Cornell Collegium Musicum. Shane has also collaborated with living composers to premiere solo works with the Ithaca Festival Chamber Orchestra, and at the East Coast Conference of the American Society of Composers. He is a former lecturer in music at Ithaca College and Cornell University, where he was an assistant organist at Sage Chapel, and he joined the faculty at the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts in 2008.
