Emily Cheung studied piano with Gabriel Kwok in the Faculty of Music of the Lingnan College, graduating with a Higher Diploma in Music. She further studied piano performance with Professor Elizabeth Powell and accompaniment with David Miller in Australia, and graduated with a Bachelor degree of Music at the New South Wales Conservatorium of Music. She has been teaching aural training at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts since 1991.
