Community:

  1. 1 MFA and 8 BFA 3 students completed a two-days multi-camera recording of the musical "Fly High Little Ones @Sham Shui Po" on 3 and 4 Nov 2017 at the HKAPA Jockey Club Amphitheatre. The musical, organized by Music Children Foundation (a NGO), features a main cast of kids from Sham Shui Po alongisde some celebrities who are music and drama alumni from the HKAPA.

  2. We will collaborate with Jessey TSANG, an independent film director and our 2001 graduate, in the production of + 10 Dance Artists Project commissioned by West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, as part of the BFA-3 Advanced Cinematography class.

  3. Invited by West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA), F/TV will collaborate in the production of ON VIEW : HONG KONG (A dance project)

  4. Our B2 Students produced 8 documentary shorts in the theme of "Shamshuipo" in collaoration with Performing Arts Education (PAE) unit in HKAPA.

  5. Mandrew KWAN's "Coffee Time" and Henky CHAN's  "Save My Son" are selected as ICAC's 青少年誠信微電影節優異影片 and they are now being broadcasted on ICAC Channel

  6. Cultamap has included LAM Sum's “Drifting” into a teaching programme「電影空間、內地來港青少年的跨文化適應與香港社區」 and it is adopted by SKH Kei Hin Primary School. As the result is very positive, the Education Bureau will promote this programme to other primary schools.

Regional/Academic:

  • ARRI Academy hosted their SkyPanel Workshop for East Aisa Pacific region at our TV studio from 16-18 May 2018.
 
  • Our 1996 Diploma graduate and current MFA-1 student Maurice LAI participated as cinematographer for the ON VIEW: HONG KONG project which was commissioned by West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA).
 
  • Invited by the 15th Vision Youth Awards which is organized by the Communication University of China,  a 120mins screening programme was presented in the festival from June 5-9, 2017 in Beijing. Senior Lecturer Ms Helen KO, B4 students CHAN Yiu Hei Purple and WONG Kam attended the festival and after-screening discussion from June 7-10
     
  • 2017 BFA-4 student YIP Tak Hung and MFA-1 student TEIXEIRA ENEDINO Dae attended the 5th International Filmmaking Workshop in Bologna, Italy from June 25 to July 15, 2017. The programme includes one week participation in the 31st Il Cinema Ritrovato Film Festival and two weeks filmmaking workshop.

  •  A delegation from Zhujiang Film Group (Pearl River Film Group) visited the F/TV in Bethanie on 15 Mar 2017. The delegation, including Mr. SUN Jinhua, the General Manager; Ms XU Danhua, the Film Planning Department Director
    and Ms Zoe LU, the General Manager Assistant and Director of Planning, has started a discussion for future cooperation.

  • Seven members from Singapore ITE College West visited School of Film and Television and attended location shooting of our Graduation Projec from 27 December 2016 to 7 January 2017

  • Co-hosted with BAFTA, British award-winning casting director Nina GOLD, conducetd a master class on casting in Drama Theatre on 15 December 2016.

  • A Master Class on Casting BFA-2 students NG Chun Wai, Ding, YEUNG Chi Ho, Kyle and BFA-3 student CHENG Tung, Katniss are selected by JOURNEY TO THE FEST which is organized by the Asian Film Awards Academy and they will visit the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival (金馬影展) from November 21 - 28, 2016.

  • In conjunction with The World of Tim Burton HK Art Exhibition, a Q&A session “In the director's chair with Mr. Tim Burton” will be held on November 5, 2016  in our TV Studio.  Alex LAI will be one of the moderators together with Mr. Christopher CHEUNG from the Hong Kong Arts Centre.

  • 22 staff and students from Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts visited F/TV in Bethanie on October 25, 2016.

  • BFA-4 student YANG Zhi Chao participated in the local feature film "Poor Rich Dad" which is directed by Mr. Alfred CHEUNG as Composer and Producer for the theme song and Composer and Performer for the film music score. He was invited to attend the premiere of the film in the 13th Chang Chun Film Festival (長春電影節) from October 13-16, 2016 in Chang Chun, China.

  • BFA-3 student YANG Zhi Chao took up the sound mixing of a 30mins Graduation Project《汪洋》 OCEAN CAROL DAL-SEGNO by OpenU students in July 2016 as Independent Study

  • With the support from Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation Scholarships (Overseas Training), our 2015-2016 BFA-4 students TSUI Wai Lok, Ken and LUI Pui Chung, Kelvin attended the 4th International Filmmaking Academy Bologna Summer Workshop that took place from June 25 – July 15, 2016 in Bologna, Italy.

  • The 6th Trans-Chinese Film Academy Contest was held from January 4-8, 2016 in F/TV. Staff and student representatives from Taipei University of the Arts (TNUA) and Beijing Film Academy came to Hong Kong and attended this event

  • National Taiwan University of Arts (NTUA)
    A school delegation consisting of Shu Kei, Alex LAI, Gipsy CHANG and 6 BFA students will visit NTUA in November 2015.

  • 2nd Film Share Festival (新港學生電影節) was held from September 21-25, 2015 in HKAPA. This year, two faculty and sixteen students from both ITE College East and College West came to Hong Kong to attend this festival.

  • 2015 BFA graduates CHAO Tzu Hao, George and LUI Mei Fung, Livia attended the Bologna Summer Workshop in Italy from June 27 to July 18, 2015.

  • TNUA student exchange
    As part of the student exchange program with Department of Filmmaking, Taipei National University of the Arts, F/TV will send our BFA students to join the TNUA students and produce a 5mins short together, with a 7-days location shoot to be carried out in Taiwan from January 5-11, 2015.
     In return, faculty and students from TNUA will come to Hong Kong for their location shoot student exchange from June 29 to July 5, 2015.

  • MFA student GUO Haoyu and BFA-3 student YAU Hawk Sau attend the International Filmmaking Academy Summer Workshop which will be held from June 28-July 19, 2014 in Bologna, Italy. The Workshop this year will be by film director Costa-Gravas, Oscar and Golden Globe winner, Cannes and Berlin Film Festival winner and current President of Cinémathèque française, Paris, and Diao Yi Nan (刁亦男), 2014 Winner of the Golden Bear for Best Film at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival award.
