What kind of person is suitable for studying at the Academy of Performing Arts?

The academy welcomes those who are interested in performing arts, theatre and entertainment arts, or film and television, as well as individuals who are talented or have received relevant training.

 

How can I apply for programmes at the Academy of Performing Arts?

Prospectus, application forms and guides may be downloaded at the APA website (www.hkapa.edu). Applicants may come to collect it at Academic Services Office directly. The completed application form shall be delivered in person or by mail with the required application documents and the bank-in receipt or bank draft for the application fee to the Academic Services Office.

What is the ordinary entrance requirement for master, bachelor and postsecondary programmes?

The following HKDSE examination gradings are required:
(a) Level 3 or above in English Language; and
(b) Level 3 or above in Chinese Language; and
(c) Level 2 or above in Mathematics; and
(d) Level 2 or above in Liberal Studies


Preference will be given to holders of the following results:
(e) Level 2 or above in one elective subject; or
(f) Attained with Distinction in one Applied Learning subject (subject to the requirements of the respective school)

IELTS 5.5

Diploma

The following HKDSE examination gradings are required:

(b) Level 2 or above in Chinese Language; and
(c) Level 2 or above in Liberal Studies

* The Academy also considers equivalent alternative qualifications or professional practice and experience as other acceptable qualifications. Applicants may be invited to submit their personal work and attend an audition and interview in person. Please refer to the prospectus and admission guide for details.

 

Are students given hostel accommodation?

At present the Academy has no hostel facilities. Non-local students take the initiative to organise their own private accommodation either on an individual or a sharing basis. Assistance will be provided by the Student Affairs Office in student accommodation matters as and when requested by students.
