The first Performing Arts Marathon @Sham Shui Po project organized by the Performing Arts Education Centre from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts came to a successful conclusion on 13 May 2012, during which the closing programme, Step out Arts, was held. More than 200 participating primary and secondary students from Sham Shui Po district performed, paraded and ran arts stalls at various locations in Sham Shui Po together with the Academy's faculties, students and alumni, more than 30 professional performing arts groups and artists, and social organizations from the district. Different activities in various locations attracted more than 5,000 people to share and celebrate the joy of arts engagement.

Leung Yan Chiu and Steve Hui, musicians of "CROSS - Spotlight on Young Musicians Series 3" demonstrated different kinds of musical instruments.

Students held the dragon and brought high spirit in the parade.
     
 
The parade included costumes demonstration and dance performance.
 
Audiences enjoyed the films from the graduates of the School of Film and Television at the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre.
     
 
Teachers and students from School of Dance of the HKAPA collaborated with participating students, jointly created and performed a site-specific dance at the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre.
 
Various arts groups performed Chinese music and Cantonese opera at Lingnan Garden in Lai Chi Kok Park.
