To provide advanced study for those who aspire toward professional practice in dance. This programme is ideally suited for those who seek deeper knowledge and experience in one or more areas including choreography, interdisciplinary performance, pedagogy, technology, and dance science.

Students work in a highly concentrated and self-directed professional environment under the mentorship of specialist advisors. While including a number of required courses, the programme of study also allows for the selection of a broad range of courses, offered by the School, other Schools, and units* in the Academy, to meet individual needs and interests. Integration is a key feature of the MFA programme - of the performing arts disciplines, of practice and theory, and of students across the Academy's various Schools. This rich and multidimensional environment supports both the development of new career paths and directions, and the generation of original work that contributes to knowledge and practice in the field of dance.
