The Part-time Technician (Film/TV) will provide technical support for day-to-day teaching and learning activities, production projects, manage online booking systems, equipment store, and ad-hoc events within the School of Film and Television. Specifically, he/she has to operate and maintain digital television studio equipment including Virtual Production (VP/XR), vision switcher, pedestal cameras, sound and lighting equipment, and IT networked media storage. The postholder is expected to work at the Academy campuses located in Wanchai and Pokfulam and should be prepared to work occasionally at other locations. The working hours from Monday to Friday is 9 hours per shift (including one-hour lunch break) and the postholder may be required to work in the evenings on weekdays, on weekends and public holidays.
Applicants should have:
(a) Relevant qualification in IT / electrical / electronic maintenance and repair;
(b) Normally at least 2 years’ full-time employment experience in a Television studio or contemporary screen production or post-production environment;
(c) Experience in software development and Digital Screen Design equipment (VP/XR) related setup;
(d) Good communication and problem-solving skills;
(e) Good written and spoken English and Chinese;
(f) Knowledge and experience in operating and maintaining digital post-production workstations; and
(g) Knowledge and experience in operating Virtual Production / Extend Reality and motion capture systems and related software is desirable.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment should be immediately available until mid-November 2025. The starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
