ASSISTANT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

FULL-TIME

Education Information Technology is a group of experts fluent in pedagogy and technology at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Its mission is to support and foster innovative teaching, learning, and practice in the context of performing arts, with integration of emerging technologies.

We are seeking to recruit an Assistant Information Technology Officer to work for the Education Information Technology.

The postholder will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the Academy’s IT infrastructure, including campus network, e-mail and central server systems, as well as the provision of user support services at its Wanchai and Pokfulam campuses. Major duties include installing, configuring, maintaining and trouble-shooting computer hardware and software for both servers and user workstations, providing technical assistance to end-users, and assisting in the administration of network devices and network user accounts. The postholder will also be required to assist in the management of central computer laboratory, server rooms, and Help Desk service counter. Ad hoc/emergency support duties after office hours may be required upon operational needs.

Requirements:
(a) A diploma or higher qualification in Computer Studies or a related discipline;
(b) At least two years of relevant experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware and software, in particular, Windows and Mac platforms, supporting Microsoft server technologies such as Windows Server, Exchange Server and/or SQL Server, and Linux, as well as in providing user support services;
(c) Hands-on experience in networking such as WAN, LAN, router, switch and Wi-Fi, or in VMware is highly desirable;
(d) Holder of relevant certifications such as CCNA, MCSE and Linux LPI is an advantage; and
(e) Good communication and interpersonal skills.


TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a two-year contract with the possibility of renewal.  A gratuity payment equal up to 10% of basic salary earned during the contract period will be payable upon satisfactory completion of contract.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
