INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER

FULL-TIME

The Internal Audit Manager reports to the Head of Internal Audit and his/her duties include, but are not limited to, managing internal audit (IA) projects; coaching and supervising junior members; communicating with auditees about contentious audit findings; applying IA tools and techniques (such as data analytics) to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of performing IA work; providing insights/advice to auditees to optimise controls, processes and/or operations; and driving good governance practices within the Academy.

Applicants should:
(a) Possess a degree from a recognised tertiary institution studying for a recognised professional accountancy/audit qualification;
(b) Have at least 8 years of internal audit experience with sound understanding of education sector, preferably working for/in similar organisation(s) previously;
(c) Be a member of professional bodies, e.g., HKICPA, IIA or CPA Australia;
(d) Assist the team to develop leading IA activities/measures for continuous improvement, and to drive better internal control and governance practices in the Academy;
(e) Assist the Head of Internal Audit in preparing reports to the Council and the Audit Committee;
(f) Manage/perform internal audit assignments and special projects independently;  
(g) Coach and supervise junior members to conduct internal audit work;
(h) Be capable to add value to both the auditees and IA work, and having track records of managing IA data analytic projects is advantageous; and  
(i) Possess good communication (in both verbal and written forms), people management, coaching, problem solving and analytical skills.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a two-year contract with the possibility of renewal.  A gratuity payment equal up to 15% of basic salary earned during the contract period will be payable upon satisfactory completion of contract.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
