Immerse yourself in performing arts at the HKAPA 35th Anniversary Open Day on 3 March
On Sunday 3 March, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) will present its 35th Anniversary Academy Open Day with more than 100 free activities prepared by students and faculty of the six Schools, our elite alumni and supporting units on the Wanchai main campus and Béthanie Landmark Heritage Campus in Pokfulam. Highlight activities include dance performances, open classes, guided tour to TV Studio, concerts, visit to backstage, Cantonese Opera experience through virtual reality, interactive showcase (Tai Chi, Movement, Greek Chorus, Theatre Games) and Elite Alumni Sharing Session – The Next Ten Years of Hong Kong Movies? The 35th Anniversary Academy Open Day is definitely a good occasion to gather with your family and friends.
The opening ceremony, featuring a number of performances, starts at 10am at the lobby of the main campus. The Academy Director Professor Adrian Walter says, “This year is the 35th Anniversary of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and our Open Day is the ideal time to launch the Anniversary celebrations. The Academy has always had a strong focus on reaching out and giving back to the community through the performing arts, continually striving to enrich the cultural life of Hong Kong. The Academy Open Day will be a wonderful opportunity for the Hong Kong community to join us to explore our facilities ‘behind the scenes’ and to enjoy all the activities put on by our talented pool of upcoming performing artists. We look forward to having you join us and welcoming you to the Academy to celebrate our 35th Anniversary with us.”
HKAPA 35th Anniversary Giveaway: “Share your Open Day favourite!”
In celebration of the 35th Anniversary of the Academy, visitors may redeem limited-edition souvenirs at the lobby of the Wanchai main campus by taking the following steps:
- Share your favourite photo(s) or video(s) taken on Open Day on his/her personal Facebook/Instagram page, and hashtag #HKAPAOpenDay
- Follow HKAPA’s Facebook/Instagram page
Participants will have the chance to win two tickets of the Academy Musical Spring Awakening (25 – 30 March), one of the 35th Anniversary events if their photos/videos are shared by the official Academy accounts. Winners will be notified on or before 11 March separately.
