The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) presented its 2017/18 Scholarship Presentation and Donors’ Appreciation Gathering yesterday evening (7 May) in honour of individuals, companies, organisations, friends and Academy staff and faculty members for their generosity in making possible the award of 506 scholarships, studentships, and prizes totalling over HK$15 million to Academy students for the year 2017/18.
Mr Jack Chan JP, the Under Secretary for Home Affairs of the HKSAR, was the Guest of Honour of the ceremony, in the presence of Academy DeputyCouncil Chairman Dr Frankie Yeung BBS MH, JP and Academy Director Professor Adrian Walter AM.
During the ceremony, Professor Adrian Walter expressed profound gratitude to all donors. He hopes the scholarship could pave the ways for the students in pursuing performing arts and their dreams.
The awards aim to recognise Academy students for their leadership, academic excellence and community services. The recipients are from across six disciplines, namely, Chinese Opera, Dance, Drama, Film and Television, Music and Theatre and Entertainment Arts.
