Student Recruitment Activities
By creating and implementing different initiatives, we maximise the student recruitment efforts through collaboration with secondary schools, the arts industry and other like-minded partners.
Principal’s Recommendation Scheme
Principal’s Recommendation Scheme is launched by the Academy to encourage secondary school students who have distinguished achievement in performing arts to apply for the Undergraduate and Post-secondary programmes. Principals of local, ESF and private international schools in Hong Kong can recommend talented students of their schools via the Scheme to pursue study in the Academy.
HKAPA Info Day Livestreamed
The Office collaborated with schools and units of the Academy to livestream the different talks in the HKAPA Info Day, which is the first of its kind in Hong Kong. Reaching a much wider community online, the Info Day offered the useful firsthand informaiton to secondary students, parents and the public to learn more about study in the Academy and the career prospects. Secondary School Principal’s Luncheon
The Academy hosted its first Principal’s Luncheon in February 2019, bringing together principals from local secondary schools to exchange views on education and admission, as well as further collaboration with the Academy. This event offers a good opportunity to forge close bond with local secondary schools.
Sharing Series of Industry Leaders for Performing Arts
To stimulate students to seize the opportunities emerging in performing arts industry, the Office invited four leaders of the creative industry to give a series of expert talks on development and prospects of the industry. Please click here to gain insight from the experts’ sharing.
Life Planning Talk by School Dean
By collaboration with different organisations of the industry, the Office arranged life planning talk at secondary schools for their students. Invited by the Office, Ms Anna Chan, Dean of the School of Dance, shared with the secondary school students about the career path and prospect of becoming a performing arts professional.
