Admission & Audition

Undergraduate and Post-Secondary Programmes 2023/24

Audition and Selection Requirements:

In addition to meeting the Academy pre-requisites for entry into their chosen programme, applicants will be invited to attend an audition and interview to ascertain their suitability for entry into the school.

 

Audition for Local Applicants

Please Note:
All applicants may be invited to submit a recently made digital recording of maximum 20 minutes’ duration with a certified statement that it is the applicant’s own performance.  The video should include a technique class and a solo (in the applicant’s choice of Major dance study).
Content: Ballet, Chinese Dance, Contemporary Dance
Submission Date: To be confirmed 

1st Round Audition:
Date: Jan-Feb 2023 
Audition Format: Face to Face Audition/Video Submission 
 
2nd Round Audition:
Date: Mar 2023 (Dance Performance or Choreography major) 
Audition Format: Face to Face Interview/Online Zoom Interview 
(Shortlisted applicants will receive email invitations before the date of 2nd round audition.)

 

Audition for Non-local Applicants

1st Round Audition:
Submission Date: Please refer to the Video Submissions Letter 
Audition Format: Video Audition

(Shortlisted applicants will receive email invitations before the date of 2nd round audition for an online interview.)



Bachelor, Professional Diploma & Diploma in Dance Foundations

First Screening

  • Juried audition technique class

Second Screening

  • Technique
  • Improvisation
  • Repertory Class/Solo/Choreography
  • Interview to ascertain suitability and motivation for entering the preferred programme

 

Master of Fine Arts in Dance 

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview (to be conducted in English) between February and May. Applicants would be required to articulate their previous practice, demonstrate knowledge of the dance ecosystem, and express their intention of research areas.
