Aoi (Japanese) is a performer and Co-Artistic Director of AΦE, who started her career in 2006, dancing in state theatres in Saarbruecken and Wiesbaden, Germany danced in a number of choreographers’ work including Marguerite Donlon, Stefan Thoss, Rafael Bonachela, Medhi Walerski and went on to dance with established companies such as Jasmin Vardimon Company and Punchdrunk. She is an award-winning choreographer with her work Ototoxic (2008) which was awarded first prize at the international choreography competition at Aarhus. She started her collaboration with dance artist Esteban Lecoq (French) in 2013, and founded AΦE in 2016. Aoi has been producing and curating alongside artistically directing the company work.
