Interstage is a pop concert produced by students from the School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Led by veteran concert producer Hong Ka-chun, the performance is co-created by singer-songwriter Winky Wong and eight students.
As a new-generation Hong Kong singer-songwriter, Winky graduated from the Department of Music at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in classical vocal music. She has participated in five editions of “Chan Fai Young x Women’s Choir” and served as an artist intern with the a cappella choral theatre company “Yat Po Singers”, bringing deep vocal foundations and rich stage experience.
In 2024, Winky officially debuted as a solo artist. Her original works combine unique concepts with personal style, earning high industry acclaim in her debut year and winning the Silver Award for Female Newcomers at the 2024 Ultimate Song Chart Awards Presentation.
Leveraging her unique musical style and creativity, Winky has successively released original singles, including “The Lilliputians”, “Before The Supermarket Closed”, and the highly theatrical “Pole Dance Mama”. Through melodies rich in theatrical colour, she tells the inner stories of modern urban life, deeply moving the public.
Interstage takes “歸零” (Back to Zero) as its theme as it enters its ninth year. Winky will lead us into everyday life, overcrowded with information, emotions, and expectations. Inviting us to pause amid this fullness and once again hear the true voice within.
“A pause on our journey, a reset before we move forward.”
Tickets will be available in mid-September.
