Biography
Mr Lawrence Choi is a Senior Lecturer in Digital and Interactive Media in the School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
Mr Choi obtained a Master of Science in New Media from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Creative Media from City University of Hong Kong. His teaching and research interests include digital and interactive media arts, extended reality design, creative programming, generative AI, and the integration of emerging technologies in performing arts education.
Mr Choi has professional experience in digital media design, interactive technology, and live entertainment. As a visual designer, he has collaborated with theatre companies including Zuni Icosahedron and W Theatre, and contributed to concert productions for Hong Kong artists. His creative work spans interactive installations, projection mapping, and immersive storytelling.
Before joining the Academy, Mr Choi served as a senior officer at a tertiary design institution, where he contributed to initiatives in AI integration, smart campus technologies, and digital learning innovation. He has teaching experience across vocational and tertiary institutions in digital media production, interactive design, and creative technology.
