Mr Dave Wu is the Lecturer (Sound and Media Production) in the School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

Mr Wu obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre and Entertainment Arts from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He has over a decade of professional experience and has delivered exceptional live sound experiences for major performing arts productions, music festivals, performance tours across Asia, and independent music events. His portfolio spans intimate DIY club venues to large-scale audio installations in concert halls and arenas. He excels at live sound mixing and system optimisation, ensuring outstanding sonic clarity and impact in challenging acoustic environments.

Before joining the Academy, he established a promising career in live sound engineering, system design, immersive audio technologies, and professional training. As a Senior EAS Engineer at d&b Audiotechnik GC, a leading German loudspeaker manufacturer, he provided expert application support, system education, and training to end-users and partners throughout the region.

His teaching and artistic practice areas include professional sound system design and deployment, modern live sound production techniques, immersive audio technologies, and practical production workflows.
