Biography

Ms. Allison Leger is a Lecturer in the General Education Department at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.  


Allison obtained her MFA in Motion Picture, Television and Recording Arts from Florida State University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in communication arts: drama, with a minor in visual arts, from Troy University. Her teaching and areas of interest include the intersection of visual and performing arts, cultural studies, and intercultural communication.

 
Allison has been lecturing in higher education institutions in Asia since 2010, when she was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to teach at Macau Polytechnic University. Following her fellowship, she served as a Lecturer and Programme Leader in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the Community College of City University (later UOW College Hong Kong). She has developed, taught, and coordinated a broad range of courses across the arts, humanities, and language disciplines.  


Allison’s films have been featured in festivals in the United States and Europe. Her honours include The Bricker Humanitarian Award and a College Television Award, presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Beyond the screen, her theatrical photography has appeared in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Variety, and numerous regional publications. As a passionate cultural explorer, Ms. Leger has travelled to more than 80 countries, bringing a global perspective to her teaching and creative practice.
