The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) - General Education

General Education and Research at the Academy integrate interdisciplinarity and intellectual inquiry into artistic training and creative practice. Through the collaborative work of the Department of General Education and the Department of Performing Arts Research, we provide credit-bearing language, liberal arts, and Academy Elective courses for postsecondary, undergraduate, and postgraduate students. Our mission is to fulfil programme requirements while cultivating reflective practitioners and visionary leaders in the performing arts. By equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and perspectives to navigate complexity, inspire change, and shape the cultural future, we affirm the Academy’s commitment to advancing both artistic excellence and cultural innovation.
