
Biography
Dr Hung Sheng is a Lecturer in the General Education Department at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
Dr Sheng received her PhD in Visual Studies from the Lingnan University. Prior to joining HKAPA, she served as a Programme Manager in the College of Humanities and Law at HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE). She also worked as a part-time lecturer at various higher education institutions in Hong Kong, where she taught courses in Hong Kong art, Chinese art and aesthetics, contemporary art and culture, and Western art history.
Dr Sheng’s teaching and research interests include Hong Kong art, Chinese art aesthetics and modernity, visual culture, socially engaged art, and interdisciplinary humanities. She is particularly interested in the role of art and humanities education in interdisciplinary learning and community engagement.
Dr Sheng has participated in a number of art research and community engagement projects, including the i-dArt Art Course and Art, Land and People: The Transformation of Public Art in Hong Kong.
