Inspired by the timeless dialogue between cultures, Anime in Viaggio (English translation: “Journey of Mind”) emerges as a meeting point of imagination and artistry. It invites audiences to embark on a voyage where Cantonese opera and Italian jazz converse across languages, rhythms, and emotions.
This experimental intercultural creation will be staged by the School of Chinese Opera of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts on 14 March 2026 (Saturday) at 2:30 p.m. in the Academy’s Hong Kong Jockey Club Amphitheatre, in collaboration with the 4 Jazz artists of Yut Quartet.
This performance is not only an artistic exchange between Cantonese opera and Italian jazz, but also a voyage of the soul. Through the interplay, audiences will discover the true meaning of travel — not merely a physical journey, but an exploration and growth of the spirit.
