Ms. Jenny Chan is a Lecturer in the General Education Department at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

Jenny received her Master’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, in addition to her bachelor’s degree in journalism and communication. She also holds a First-Class Certificate in the Putonghua Proficiency Test (issued by the State Language Commission) and a N1 Certificate in the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test.

Jenny has written extensively across various genres. Over the years, she has been actively engaged in modern and contemporary Chinese literary creation, with a total of 45 works—including modern fiction, essays, poetry, and column articles—published in 13 different Chinese magazines, newspapers and books. In 2021 and 2022, she wrote column pieces for two RTHK television programmes: Hong Kong Story: A Detour to Happiness and Culture on the Walk.

Passionate about teaching, Jenny values communication with students. She aims at strengthening students’ Chinese language competencies and literary appreciation by creating a positive learning environment that enables students to enjoy learning and writing Chinese and to perform to the best of their abilities and talents.
