Biography

Crystal Koo obtained her PhD in Creative Writing from Goldsmiths, University of London, her MA in Creative Writing from the University of New South Wales, and her BA in English Studies from the University of the Philippines, Diliman. She was previously an English lecturer at the College of International Education, Hong Kong Baptist University. She is currently a reader for the Bridport Prize and the Queen Mary Wasafiri New Writing Prize and is a winner of the Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for Literature and the Hong Kong Top Story award. Her short fiction has been published in multiple venues and her play The Foundling was staged at the Fringe Club in Hong Kong in 2009. Her areas of interest include English creative writing, speculative fiction, postcolonialism, and scale theory.
