Facilities

With funding of HK$20 million from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust via the Home Affairs Bureau, an extension of the Academy rooftop was dedicated to Chinese Opera. This rooftop extension, named 'The Hong Kong Jockey Club Millennium Studios', was unveiled on 16 January 2001. It includes two studios, one classroom and an academic office, which are primarily used by the School of Cantonese Opera. The venue Studio 11 is equipped with carpet and wall bars and is delegated for practical courses like Foundation Works, Repertoire and Practical Performance, as well as various rehearsals.

The School of Chinese Opera mainly holds Cantonese opera performances in the Drama Theatre, while Cantonese operatic singing concerts will be held in the Amphitheatre or Concert Hall.

Students of the music stream can book practice rooms for self-practice. Courses like Major Instrument and Vocal Training (Individual) are sometimes held in the teaching rooms of the School of Music.

For other contextual studies and academic courses, classrooms and lecture halls are used. The soundproof seminar room is available for percussion lessons.
