Biography
Joined The Hong Kong Academy For Performing Arts in 2016
Benny Chan is a graduate of the HKAPA School of Film and Television with a major in Sound Design. Benny has worked professionally on a number of local and international high-budget films including Jackie Chan’s “Rush Hour 2”. His work on “One Nite in Mongkok” was nominated for the Best Sound Award in the Hong Kong Film Awards of 2005.
Benny worked at CINEDIGIT SOUND LTD covering all aspects of audio post-production and sound design. He joined FOX International Channels specialising in live recording, sound editing and broadcast mixing in their sound department.
He has been a part-time Sound lecturer for the HKAPA School of Film and Television since 2006 and in 2011 he was invited to teach Sound Design and Avid ProTools digital audio workstation operations for the Hong Kong Baptist University’s Academy of Film.
Benny is an AVID Pro Tools Certified Instructor for Level 1, Level 2 and Dolby Atmos Production Training.
