Biography

Pianist Yury Shadrin has performed as a soloist and recitalist in distinguished venues across four continents, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Boulez Saal, and Russia’s Mariinsky Theatre. His recent engagements include recitals at Konzerthaus Berlin, Beethoven-Haus Bonn, and China’s Central Conservatory of Music, as well as performances at the Gilmore Festival, the Steinway Series at Silo Hill, and residencies at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent and London’s Royal College of Music. By invitation from Daniel Barenboim, he performed with the Staatskapelle Berlin during its 450th season, and Sir András Schiff invited him to present recitals across major halls in Belgium, Germany, and Switzerland.
 

As an orchestral soloist, Mr. Shadrin has collaborated with ensembles such as the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony, Philippines Philharmonic, and Vietnam National Philharmonic, among others. His recital appearances, including with Washington Performing Arts and the Mariinsky Stars of the White Nights Festival alongside the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, have been broadcast on radio and television in the United States, China, Japan, Vietnam, and Venezuela. A first-prize winner of the Rome International Piano Competition and Grand Prize recipient at the Siberian Piano Competition, he has earned international recognition for his artistry. In addition to his performance career, Mr. Shadrin is a dedicated educator, recently appointed Head of Keyboard Studies at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and having served as Artistic Director of the Leon Fleisher Academy.
 

Mr. Shadrin’s education includes studies with renowned pianists Lev Naumov and Eliso Virsaladze at the Moscow Conservatory, followed by training in the United States under Monique Duphil at Oberlin Conservatory, Peter Frankl at Yale, and the esteemed Leon Fleisher at Peabody Conservatory.
