Artistically directed by Tang Shu-wing, with French guest music director Béatrice Thiret, and re-edited by filmmaker Jérôme Diamant‑Berger, the work is built around Henri Diamant‑Berger’s 1921 French silent film The Three Musketeers. It reimagines the classic through a contemporary dialogue with the Chinese literary masterpiece Water Margin. The visual language of French silent cinema is combined with original music composed by students from the Composition and Electronic Music Department and a newly written Cantonese script, performed by students from the School of Music and the School of Drama, alongside multimedia content created by students from the School of Film and Television.

Thumbnail Academy Masterclass by German Brass

Academy Masterclass by German Brass

The German Brass Quintet was founded in 1974, which later became GERMAN BRASS. This initial quintet paves the way to a new brass chamber music formation. The great history of music begins with the expansion of the ensemble by a further five musicians on the occasion of the celebrations for Johann Sebastian Bach in 1984. This marks the transition from a manageable, chamber music line-up to a large orchestral sound. Over the years, the ensemble has continuously rejuvenated itself and has been able to further improve its always exceptional musical quality. For decades, GERMAN BRASS has been writing an impressive success story as an indispensable part of the global music scene. The top ensemble has been filling major concert halls at home and abroad for many years. Critics and music lovers across Europe, Asia and America.
