Echoes of the Unknown
Renowned music director Wong Chi Ching and artistic director Law Wing Fai of the Wuji Ensemble have joined forces for the first time with their ensemble, collaborating with the School of Music at the Academy for the world premiere of the immersive atmospheric musical theater, “Echoes of the Unknown.”
This groundbreaking project explores new developments and interpretations in contemporary performing arts, breaking away from traditional conservatory practices by eliminating sheet music. Through this approach, musicians, dancers, and artists are encouraged to deepen their internal hearing, creativity, self-expression, inner musical instinct, and intercultural stylistic evolution.
The production integrates set, lighting, costume, and video projection design, merging Chinese and Western instruments to create an innovative and immersive atmospheric musical theater experience.
Supported by: The Hong Kong Arts Development Council, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Wuji Ensemble, and Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong Ltd.
