Transformative learning theory focuses on the moments that fundamentally alter how students see the world and themselves. Rather than simply adding new facts to what they already know, this approach, originally developed by Jack Mezirow, uses "disorienting dilemmas" and critical reflection to challenge a learner’s deeply held assumptions. By designing learning opportunities that prompt students to question their perspectives and engage in open dialogue, we aim to shift the classroom experience from passive learning to a truly life-changing professional and personal evolution.
