EDuIT has acquired the ROKOKO Smartsuit, enabling real-time motion capture of the body which can be used in performance or performing arts research. Currently, we are conducting an experiment involving the mapping of a 3D character using this collected data. The 3D character is further integrated into an animation with the Unreal Engine.
What is ROKOKO Smartsuit?

The Rokoko Smartsuit is a motion capture suit designed for capturing and streaming full-body movements for use in 3D animation, virtual reality, and other applications. The suit uses inertial measurement units (IMUs) embedded in a textile suit to track the wearer's movements, which are then transmitted wirelessly to a computer for use in 3D software.
Key features and functionalities:
Full-body motion capture
The Smartsuit captures the movements of the entire body, including head, hands, and feet.
Wireless data transmission
The suit streams data wirelessly via Wi-Fi, allowing for more freedom of movement compared to wired systems.
Integration with 3D software
The captured motion data can be streamed directly to popular 3D software.
What is Unreal Engine?
Unreal Engine is a game engine developed by Epic Games, used for creating interactive 3D graphics and immersive virtual experiences. It's a comprehensive suite of tools and technologies that enables developers to build games, films, simulations, and more.
A dance student, Kale See has been invited to join us to do the experiment with the motion capture suit, his dance movement has been captured by the suit and further integrated into 3D animation by Unreal Engine.
