- Medication
Hong Kong's pharmacies are well-stocked, but if you require prescription medication or prefer specific brands, you may consider bringing it along with you. Insect repellent could be useful in the summer months.
- Primary Health Care on Campus
The Academy has an on-campus clinic providing primary health care services for all full-time students.
- Physiotherapy Service
The Physiotherapy Service provides assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries and conditions affecting students' health, wellbeing, and daily activities. Services are delivered by a full-time in-house Registered Physiotherapist and include individual consultations, injury management, rehabilitation programmes, and advice on injury prevention and physical conditioning. Students may also receive guidance on self-management strategies, activity modification, and a safe return to study, training, and other regular activities.
- Public Hospital Care
Specialist care and hospitalization are available at the public clinics and general wards of government hospitals.
The nearest Ruttonjee Hospital provides accident and emergency services, and other selected specialist services. The charge for those holding a Hong Kong Identity Card (HKID card) is subsidized. Non-local students without an HKID card are required to pay full fees for services and hospitalization in government hospitals.

- Self-purchase Medical Insurance
Due to the high demand for subsidised public healthcare services in Hong Kong, and as the Academy provides only basic medical services, all non-local students are strongly advised to purchase and maintain valid medical insurance throughout their period of study, regardless of the length of their stay in Hong Kong.
Medical insurance is essential to ensure timely access to appropriate medical treatment when needed. It also provides an important financial safety net by helping to cover medical expenses and enabling students to access a wider range of healthcare services locally. Students are therefore strongly advised to arrange suitable medical insurance coverage before their arrival in Hong Kong.
- Group Personal Accident Insurance for Student
The Academy’s Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy included primary provisions for students against accidental death, permanent total disability, and accidental medical expenses arising from the events/activities organized by the Academy. Details are available at the intranet. Students may choose to purchase their own insurance if necessary.
