For Post-Secondary and Undergraduate Students
Full-time local post-secondary and undergraduate students who have the right of abode in Hong Kong or have resided or have had their homes in Hong Kong continuously for three complete years immediately prior to the commencement of their studies at the Academy are eligible to apply for financial assistance under the Government’s Student Finance Office’s Tertiary Student Finance Scheme – Publicly-funded Programmes (TSFS) and/or Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Full-time Tertiary Students (NLSFT).
The TSFS offers means-tested financial assistance to students in the form of a grant and/or a loan. The grant covers tuition fees, academic expenses and compulsory union fees. The loan is for living expenses and is interest-bearing at 1.0% per annum chargeable from the commencement of the repayment period.
The NLSFT complements the TSFS and offers financial assistance to students in the form of a loan to cover tuition fees without a means test. The maximum amount of the loan is capped at the tuition fees payable. Interest is charged once the loan is drawn down and throughout the repayment period until the NLSFT loan is fully repaid. Students may visit the website of the NLSFT (https://www.wfsfaa.gov.hk/en/sfo/postsecondary/nlsft/overview.php) for the current level of the interest rate.
Students are advised to visit the SFO website at https://www.wfsfaa.gov.hk/en/sfo/index.htm for information on the application procedures.
For Postgraduate Students
Eligible local postgraduate students at the Academy may apply for financial assistance under the Government’s Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme (ENLS) which provides financial assistance in the form of loans to eligible students to settle tuition fees of specific part-time and full-time continuous and professional education courses provided in Hong Kong.
The maximum amount of loan students may borrow is the total tuition fees payable for the current academic year provided that the amount should not exceed an aggregate of 12 months’ tuition fees payable and the life-time loan limit or its remaining.
Students are advised to visit the Government’s Student Finance Office (SFO) website at https://www.wfsfaa.gov.hk/en/sfo/postsecondary/enls/overview.php for information on the application procedures.
