Over the course of three immersive days, HKAPA PerformTech Symposium 2024: Staging the Future of Performing Arts will host a lineup of distinguished guest speakers who will delve into the profound impact of technology, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, on theatrical practices, scenography, film production, and arts education.
 
The showcase performance collaborated by artists and students will transcend conventional norms, as dance and music intertwine with groundbreaking technologies, unlocking new dimensions of artistic expression and pushing the boundaries of creativity to unparalleled heights.

Get ready for an unforgettable jazz experience as the renowned classical and jazz trumpeter, bandleader, composer, and a leading advocate of American culture, Wynton Marsalis, takes the stage with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO), making their debut in Hong Kong. The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis performances in Hong Kong promise to be a once-in-a-lifetime concert for jazz enthusiasts and music lovers alike. Tickets priced at $1,580, $1,280, $980 & $780 will be available starting 10am 4 October 2024 via Cityline.

The two nights of concert will be held on Thursday and Friday, 17th and 18th October 2024, at Lyric Theatre, the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA). Showtimes are at 8pm.

**October 18: Happy Birthday to Wynton Concert **
On this day, join in the celebration of Wynton Marsalis' birthday. Marsalis, a pillar of the music community since his youth, has garnered numerous accolades throughout his illustrious career, emphasizing education and inspiring young people around the globe. His contributions to cultural integration and human peace are profound. During this special birthday concert, he will infuse his admiration and understanding of Eastern musical traditions into jazz arrangements, showcasing the magnificent fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.

‘Shakespeare is alive and well and thriving in the beating heart of Action To The Word’ The Guardian

Blood will have blood, they say, in this striking retelling of Shakespeare's most popular tragedy. The award-winning Action To The Word ensemble return, having toured Romeo & Juliet last year, in their visceral performance of this tale of ambition, power and loss. With their unique flare for physical storytelling, Action To The Word’s production of Macbeth, passionately pulls into question the very human condition, asking what people will stop at to get what they desire.

Directed by Alexandra Spencer-Jones (A Clockwork Orange, Dracula, and winner of the Musical Theatre Matters: UK Award for Best Director).
