A contemporary take of Waiting for Godot, twelve individuals navigate through the passage of time. Living at the edge of the city, they are all interconnected yet isolated. Finding joy amidst suffering, they ask with hope, what does the future hold for them?
Dea Loher is an award-winning German playwright, the recipient of the Bertolt-Brecht-Literature Prize in 2006 and the Berlin Literature Prize in 2009. Following her critically acclaimed play Innocence (2004), Loher produced another masterpiece of epic poetry, Diebe (2010). Comprising 37 scenes, Diebe captures the essence of vitality, interlacing absurdity with comedy, and catching oblique moments and weaving them into an unparalleled theatrical panorama.
This is the Chinese premiere of Diebe.
