Education Information Technology is a group of experts fluent in pedagogy and technology at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Its mission is to support and foster innovative teaching, learning, and practice in the context of performing arts, with integration of emerging technologies.

We are seeking to recruit an Information Technology Officer (Infrastructure) to work for the Education Information Technology.

The postholder will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the Academy’s IT infrastructure, including campus network, network devices, servers and database. He/She will administer various user applications and configure central computer systems and hardware. He/She shall be capable of monitoring centrally administered systems and networks and responding immediately to security or usability concerns. He/She will manage the hardware and software inventory and relevant system upgrade and acquisition.

Requirements:

(a) A Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related discipline;

(b) At least three years’ IT work experience in sizeable company, of which at least two years’ experience in system administration;

(c) Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in configuring and administering:

     - Switches/routers, cabling, IT closets, firewalls, IPS, load balancer, wireless APs and controller, email appliance, and antivirus solution;

     - Microsoft Windows Servers, ADFS, Active Directory, SCCM, Veeam, SAN and Linux Server;
     -  Microsoft Azure AD, M365;

     - Virtualization Technology (VMware) and Network Security Technology;

     -  Oracle / MS SQL Server Database;

(d) Experience on carrying out production jobs, data backup/recovery and other scheduled tasks;

(e) previous experience in developing server-side automation scripts is an advantage;

(f) Strong analytical, independent, excellent problem-solving skills and able to work under pressure;

(g) Good interpersonal and communication skill, and willing to learn and take initiative; and

(h) Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (ie, Cantonese and Puthonghua).

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a two-year contract.  Renewal of contract is subject to work performance and operational needs of the Academy.  A gratuity payment equals up to 10% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period.  The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 10 % of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. We are seeking to recruit an Information Technology Officer (User Support) to work for the Education Information Technology.

The postholder will be a core member of IT User Support team in the office. He/She will be responsible for managing the IT Help Desk counter and hotline support as well as hardware and software support for user. He/she will support and maintain the central computer laboratories and IT facilities in the Academy, and also monitor, maintain and stock take IT equipment.    

Requirement:

(a) A Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information System, Multimedia, or other related discipline;

(b) At least three years’ IT work experience in sizeable company, of which at least two years’ experience in user support services;    

(c) Experience in the management of IT Help Desk counter and front-line IT support services for user;

(d) Experience in technical supports and field work services including evaluation, problem diagnosis, installation, configuration and maintenance of computer hardware and software for desktop/laptop/tablet;

(e) Hands-on experience in preparing support manuals, user guides and knowledge bases is an advantage;

(f) Previous experience in developing/operating IT Asset Management System or IT HelpDesk Management System is an advantage;

(g) Good communication and interpersonal skills, and problem-solving skills; and

(h) Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (ie, Cantonese and Puthonghua).

The Centre for General Education and Research (the Centre) at the Academy offers a range of Complementary Studies courses including languages.  The postholder of Lecturer (General Education and Research - Chinese Language) will join a collaborative and proactive team to assist in the management and delivery of Chinese language courses offered by the Academy.  The postholder will also oversee the development of related course materials at undergraduate degree and sub-degree levels and coordinate part-time teachers in course delivery.

Applicants should possess:
(a) A Master’s degree in Chinese language or related discipline;
(b) A minimum of 3 years’ relevant teaching experience at the tertiary level;
(c) A proven track record in developing classroom-learning and eLearning materials that are student-centred, communicative and outcome-based;
(d) An excellent command of written and spoken Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) and fluency in spoken and written English; 
(e) Experience or an interest in art or performing arts is an advantage.

The ideal candidate will be a committed and dynamic teacher, who have excellent interpersonal skills and work to a high standard both independently and as part of a team.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

Renewal of contact is subject to work performance and operational needs of the Academy.  A gratuity payment equals up to 15% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period.  The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 15 % of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits.  Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

Appointees will report to the Manager (Box Office) of Venue Performance Office.  They will be responsible for selling event tickets to the general public, answering venue enquiry and performing all administration duties relating to the Box Office including preparation of daily sales reports and financial reconciliation. Appointees are required to perform duties according to the working roster set by the Manager (Box Office).

Qualifications:

(a) At least 5 subjects at Grade E or above in the HKCEE, or Level 2 or above in the HKDSEE, including English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language;

(b) Pleasant personality;

(c) Good command of spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua;

(d) Good computer skills; and

(e) Preferably having experience in ticket selling and cashier office.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a one-year basis. Renewal of contract is subject to work performance and operational needs of the Academy.  

The postholder will assist the Campus Development Office in reviewing and establishing the Academy’s policies and guidelines on health, safety and environment issues, implementing and maintaining health and safety measures stipulated under the prevailing legislations and regulation. Duties also include conducting safety inspections and risk assessments of on-campus and off-campus venues to identify hazards, compiling reports with recommendations on incidents/accidents, organizing training activities and promotional events to staff and students to enhance their awareness on health, safety and environmental awareness as well as co-ordinating with stakeholders, contractors, consultants and government bodies to ensure compliance with the required standards.  

Requirements:
(a) Possess a recognised degree in Safety Management/Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent with at least seven years of relevant experience; 
(b) Be a Registered Safety Officer with the Labour Department;
(c) Past relevant experience with universities/tertiary institutions and/or Government departments would be advantageous;
(d) Possess valid certificates in First Aid, Confined Space Competent Persons, Construction Industry Safety Training (Green Card) and other relevant certificates;
(e) Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and
(f) Proficient in MS Office and PC applications.

The Centre for General Education and Research (the Centre) at the Academy offers a range of Complementary Studies courses including languages.  The postholders of Senior Lecturer/Lecturer (General Education and Research – General Education) will join a collaborative and proactive team in the management and delivery of General Education (GE) courses offered by the Academy.  The postholders will help to develop GE courses under the new curriculum and coordinate part-time teachers in course delivery. They will be required to teach and manage different subjects including but not limited to Arts & Aesthetics, Creativity & Storytelling, Cultural Studies, Entrepreneurship, Humanities, Innovation & Evolution, Literature, and Philosophy, etc. They will also assist the Principal Head (General Education and Research) (PH(GE&R)) in matters related to programme development as well as teaching and learning pertaining to general education, and the student learning experience across the six Schools of the Academy. The postholders will also actively support the development of innovative approaches to programme as well as teaching and learning developments within the performing arts and conservatoire context, playing a role in overseeing the quality of the Academy’s academic programmes.

The postholders report to the PH(GE&R) and will work closely with the senior management team and the related internal parties of the Academy, key responsibilities and duties include:

(a) To assist the PH(GE&R) to support the development of all programmes and teaching and learning at the Centre and the Academy;
(b) To provide pedagogical support and advice to academic staff on curricular and programme matters and to build competency in evidence-and outcome-based assessment of student learning within the Centre and  the Academy;
(c) To assist PH(GE&R) to coordinate all aspects of the academic review of the present curriculum between the Centre and six Schools, monitor the development of new courses for the new curriculum, and help steer programme re-accreditation and implementation processes;  
(d) To lead, organise and/or manage various teaching and learning workshops, as required;
(e) To contribute to Academy’s boards/committees or working groups pertaining to curricular and programme matters, as required;
(f) To provide educational design expertise across broad considerations of learning spaces, both physical and virtual with the goal of achieving quality enhancement in the GE programmes;  
(g) To liaise with various external consultants and stakeholders, and to assist in building the Academy’s academic reputation in alignment with best practices;
(h) To contribute to evaluation, data analytics and ongoing quality assurance and refinement of the work of the team;
(i) To contribute pedagogical expertise to the development of various showcases, symposia etc. that may include those in virtual spaces; 
(j) To support and contribute to all activities of the Academy pertaining to curricular and programme review exercises;
(k) To undertake duties as assigned by the PH(GE&R).

Applicants must possess:

(a) A postgraduate qualification in performing arts or arts discipline, preferably with a PhD for the Senior Lecturer post;  or a relevant postgraduate degree or equivalent professional credentials for Lecturer posts;
(b) Substantial experience in leading programme/curriculum development and programme review;
(c) Experience in course development and management;
(d) Substantial experience in teaching and research in the context of general education at tertiary level;
      i.  For the Lecturer post, at least 3 years relevant experience; or
      ii. For the Senior Lecturer post, at least 6 years relevant experience 
(e) Demonstrated commitment to integration of theory and practice, and to innovative teaching practices and eLearning; 
(f) Thorough knowledge of HKQF Generic Level Descriptors, outcomes-based education with first-hand experience in writing learning outcomes and developing assessment tools;
(g) A good understanding of contemporary General Education, as well as current arts and cultural developments;
(h) Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese, preferably including proficiency in Cantonese and Putonghua.

Applicants with less experience may be considered for the appointment of Lecturer (General Education and Research).  The ideal candidates will be committed and dynamic teachers, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and work to a high standard both independently and as part of a team
