Education Information Technology is a group of experts fluent in pedagogy and technology at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Its mission is to support and foster innovative teaching, learning, and practice in the context of performing arts, with integration of emerging technologies.


We are seeking to recruit an Information Technology Officer (Infrastructure) to work for the Education Information Technology.


The postholder will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the Academy’s IT infrastructure, including campus network, network devices, servers and database. He/She will administer various user applications and configure central computer systems and hardware. He/She shall be capable of monitoring centrally administered systems and networks and responding immediately to security or usability concerns. He/She will manage the hardware and software inventory and relevant system upgrade and acquisition.



(a) A Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related discipline;

(b) At least three years’ IT work experience in sizeable company, of which at least two years’ experience in system administration;

(c) Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in configuring and administering:

     - Switches/routers, cabling, IT closets, firewalls, IPS, load balancer, wireless APs and controller, email appliance, and antivirus solution;

     - Microsoft Windows Servers, ADFS, Active Directory, SCCM, Veeam, SAN and Linux Server;
     -  Microsoft Azure AD, M365;

     - Virtualization Technology (VMware) and Network Security Technology;

     -  Oracle / MS SQL Server Database;

(d) Experience on carrying out production jobs, data backup/recovery and other scheduled tasks;

(e) previous experience in developing server-side automation scripts is an advantage;

(f) Strong analytical, independent, excellent problem-solving skills and able to work under pressure;

(g) Good interpersonal and communication skill, and willing to learn and take initiative; and

(h) Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (ie, Cantonese and Puthonghua).


Appointment will be on a two-year contract.  Renewal of contract is subject to work performance and operational needs of the Academy.  A gratuity payment equals up to 10% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period.  The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 10 % of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits.  Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
