Programme Specific Requirements and Supporting Materials for Admissions

Master of Fine Arts in Drama

A satisfactory level of Chinese comprehension and writing skills may be required, depending on individual study plan.

Applicants for Applied Theatre, Drama and Education Majors should possess a Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines in education, social work or equivalent and at least two years of drama and theatre education or applied theatre experience.


Applicants for Dramaturgy Major should possess a Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines in arts and humanities, theatre or creative arts. Applicants possessing a Bachelor's degree in other areas will also be considered on the basis of their relevant work and creative experience.


Applicants for Playwriting Major should have a satisfactory level of Chinese comprehension and writing skills.


In addition to the general admission requirements and the programme specific admission requirements, applicants are also required to submit the following supporting application materials:

 

Applicants for Directing, Playwriting and Dramaturgy Majors are required to submit at least one of the following:

 

  • Digital video file/photographs of applicant's past work;
  • Digital video file/photographs and/or portfolio of applicant's current work;
  • Digital video file/photographs and/or past portfolio of applicant's relevant work in specialisation area(s).    

 

Applicants for Applied Theatre, Drama and Education Majors may submit any one of the following:    

 

  • Digital video file/photographs/written record of applicant's drama teaching activities;
  • Digital video file/photographs/written record of any drama education/applied drama/theatre activities designed or facilitated by the applicant;
  • One or more drama education syllabus devised by the applicant in the past.
