The 40th Graduation Ceremony of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) was held this afternoon at the Academy Lyric Theatre. The ceremony was officiated by Mr Symon Wong Yu-wing MH, Council Chairman of the Academy Council.
HKAPA congratulated the graduates on reaching this significant milestone and shared that the future belongs to those who cross boundaries — between disciplines, cultures, technologies, and industries. As the Academy evolves into a more industry-engaged institution, we are committed to preparing our students not only to enter the arts and cultural industries but also to shape them. The forthcoming HKAPA Creative Futures and Innovation Centre, planned for launch in early 2027, will create new opportunities to experiment with emerging technologies, incubate creative ideas, and develop new forms of expression — empowering every graduate to become not only an artist, but also a creator of intellectual property, cultural value, and future possibilities. As our nation advances its 15th Five-Year Plan and supports Hong Kong's role as an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange, the Academy will continue to deepen its engagement across the Greater Bay Area and beyond. Through talent development, collaborative programmes and new partnerships, the Academy aims to create broader platforms for our graduates to tell Hong Kong, Chinese and human stories with confidence and artistic excellence.
This year, a total of 309 graduates from the six Schools of the Academy; namely, Chinese Opera, Dance, Drama, Film and Television, Music, and Theatre and Entertainment Arts, as well as the Department of Performing Arts Research, were conferred Master’s Degrees, Bachelor’s (Honours) Degrees, Diplomas, or Certificates.
