Functions of the Registry

The Registry, in collaboration with Schools, and various academic and administrative departments, supports research and development of academic regulations and policies, and ensures consistent and fair implementation of policies and regulations relating to study programmes. It acts as an expert provider of fundamental Academy-wide academic services spanning the full study cycle from admission to graduation. It is the Academy’s executive arm in quality assurance and enhancement spanning related functions from programme approval, monitoring and review, to internal and external quality review, and conduct of course evaluation surveys and student experience surveys. The Registry also provides secretariat services to academic committees including the Academic Board, the Academic Policy and Quality Assurance Committee, the Board of Postgraduate Education and the Board of Undergraduate Education.

Legal compliance

The Registry ensures that the Academy’s academic operation lies within the legal provision of HKAPA Ordinance (Cap. 1135); and laws, regulations and requirements relevant to higher education operation in Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework.

The Registry ensures that the Academy makes informed decisions regarding its academic policies, regulations and operation with well-documented evidence and justifications.
