From March 4 to 8, 2020 TANZPLATTFORM DEUTSCHLAND took place in Munich. A total of 558 productions was registered for the review period after the last edition, of which 444 were reviewed. 15 productions were selected by the jury panel which showcased the vibrant and unique German independent production scene and the companies of city and state theatres.  In this public forum, Walter Heun, Chair of the Tanzplattform Jury will share his personal insight and curatorial concept for Tanzplattform. Jury member Ingrida Gerbutaviciute will be invited to share the current contemporary dance scene in Germany. Dance critic Vesna Mlakar will point out what was most remarkable for her about the productions of the Tanzplattform 2020.

About Walter Heun
Walter Heun is a cultural manager, dance and theater producer. For over 20 years he has been committed to contemporary dance education and the development of institutional structures for contemporary dance in Germany.

Heun was co-founder of Tanztendenz München and the National Performance Network. Heun has also been co-founder and co-director of the Tanzplattform Deutschland, a showcase of German contemporary dance since 1994. Since 1991 he has been director of the Munich festival Tanzwerkstatt Europa. 2009 - 2017 he was artistic director of Tanzquartier Wien. From 2015-2017 Heun was president of the European Dancehouse Network (EDN).

About Ingrida Gerbutavičiūtė
The dance critic and dramaturge Ingrida Gerbutavičiūtė received her MA (linguistics, theater sciences, journalism and communication science) at the Freie Universität in Berlin. Since 2011, she has been the project director at the Lithuanian Dance Information Center (LDIC), where she has been directing the "International Dance Experts in Lithuania" project and co-curating the "Lithuanian Dance Showcase" and "Baltic Dance Platform". 2012-2017, Gerbutavičiūtė organized and curated the Berlin festival "Litauen tanzt". 2013-2018, Gerbutavičiūtė held the dance chair at the Lithuanian Academy for Music and Theater, where she initiated two new BA programs for dance and dance pedagogy. 2014-2016, she was a jury member for the famous Lithuanian theater prize "Golden Cross of the Stage"; in 2018, for the "ground support" prize at the Favoriten Festival Dortmund. Gerbutavičiūtė publishes her contributions to dance periodicals and online dance magazines in German and Lithuanian.
