Future Stage: AI x Performing Arts Awards

• The AI-Powered Stage: AI-driven creativity in performing arts
• StageNext: the future of performance
• Beats of the Future: Voice/Rhythm/Music
• Future in Motion: Dynamic Dance/Drama/Film/Chinese Opera, etc.
• Human & robotic (drone or human-like robot) collaboration

• Participants must be current students or recent graduates of higher education institutions.
• Each group can have up to 4 members.
• If won, the winner(s) must be physically present at the final gala event

All submissions must feature at least one AI tool and include the following:

1. Video Proposal (Optional, but strongly encouraged.)
   • Duration: Minimum of 1 minute.
   • Content: Showcase the use of AI and the element of performing arts (e.g., music, dance, Chinese opera, etc.), highlighting the tool’s capabilities and its creative application.
   • Format: Standard Full HD (1080p); 1920 x 1080 pixels

2. Artist Statement

   Provide a creative statement in Chinese or English (maximum 150 – 200 words) that includes:

   • The story or concept (what is your performance/message)
   • The artistic approach (creative process)

   • How did you use AI (what and how)

      

• Shortlisted submissions will be invited to attend an online interview in September.
• The interview takes around 10-15 minutes for the judging panel to learn more about the individual/team and the project.
• Finalists will be selected from interviews to compete in the live competition.

• A live competition will be held for the finalists at Hall 5E on 14 October 2025.
• Each finalist/team will have 5-7 minutes on stage to showcase their creative process and AI-powered performance
• Winners of the competition will be invited to perform at the annual dinner held that evening at the Grand Hyatt Hotel to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and HKEIA.

Submissions will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

1. Technical Skill (30%)
   • Integration of AI technology
   • Quality of performance
   • Ethical use of AI
2. Creativity & Performance (40%)
   • Relevance to the theme
   • Originality and Artistic expression
   • Engagement and interactivity
3. Collaboration Between Human and AI (20%)
   • Human involvement
   • Demonstration of AI as a creative partner
   • Exploration of new possibilities
4. Theme Music/Song (10%)
   • Catchy rhythm/lyric/melody
   • Impact

   • Production quality
