The postholder is required to provide front line IT support to the School of Theatre and Entertainment Art (TEA) at both Wanchai and Bethanie campuses. He/she will oversee the computer laboratory and provide technical support to the School of TEA. He/she will be responsible for managing and monitoring IT equipment, workstations, and network facilities. Additionally, the postholder will assist students in using IT resources and setting up equipment for teaching activities, performances, and events.

 

Applicants should have:
(a) A Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related discipline.
(b) At least 5 years’ IT work experience in technical support role and at least 3 years’ experience in supporting Mac OS platform support.
(c) At least 1 years’ hands-on experience in IP Network Infrastructure, including practical knowledge of routers and switches.
(d) Willing to learn and take initiative.  Strong analytical, independent, excellent problem-solving skills and able to work under pressure.
(e) Good interpersonal and communication skill.     Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
(f) Familiarity with the operational needs of creative and performing arts environments is a plus.
(g) Basic understanding of entertainment-related software (e.g., QLab, Pro Tools, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, or other sound, light, and video applications) is preferred. Training will be provided as necessary.

 

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a two-year renewable contract, subject to performance and mutual agreement.  A gratuity payment equals up to 10% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period.  The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits.  Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
