The General Education and Research unit is now inviting applications for Part-time Teachers to teach the course ‘Process Writing (English)’. This course is offered to postgraduate students and is designed to enhance students’ writing and critical thinking abilities by guiding them through a process-oriented approach to composing research-based argumentative essays and reflective essays. It focuses on developing students’ understanding of genre conventions, enhancing their academic research skills, and analysing a variety of methods effective writers use.
Class sessions of the course will take place in daytime or evening during weekdays. The course is expected to run from September to December 2025, Semester 1, and/or January to May 2026, Semester 2 of the Academic Year 2025/26. Preference will be given to applicants who are immediately available.
Applicants should:
(a) Possess a postgraduate qualification, preferably a PhD, in English language or a related discipline;
(b) Normally have a minimum of three years’ relevant teaching experience at the tertiary level;
(c) Possess a thorough knowledge of HKQF and outcome-based education, an understanding of practice-based research and experience in teaching academic writing;
(d) Preferably have experience or an interest in art or the performing arts;
(e) Have an excellent command of written and spoken English; and
(f) Exhibit proficiency in providing student advising and consultation.
