The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, with funding support from Swire Group, launched the Greater Bay Area Youth Orchestra (GBAYO) in July 2022, combining forces of the best young musicians across the Greater Bay Area.
The Project Manager reports to the Dean of the School of Music. The postholder will be contracted by and posted at the Academy, and will be responsible for providing administrative and operational support to all activities related to the GBAYO and the School of Music, including but not limited to maintaining the proposed budget; marketing and publicity; recruitment and audition; concert and tour preparations and production.
Qualifications:
(a) University graduate with a minimum of 5 years of relevant management experience in music or performing arts organisations;
(b) Good knowledge of and experience in events and tour planning, rehearsal and concert procedures;
(c) Experience in and have knowledge in social media content creation and website management;
(d) Good interpersonal and communication skills to work with different parties;
(e) Strong time-management and multi-tasking skills to manage competing priorities;
(f) Good computer literacy, particularly on Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google forms;
(g) Skills in visual design, audio and video editing would be an advantage; and
(h) Fluency in English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
The appointment will be for one-year with possibility of renewal, subject to available funding and mutual agreement. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. The starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
