The postholder  reports to the Head of Information Technology and serves as the primary technical specialist for the Ellucian Banner ERP System. The incumbent is responsible for managing system development, operations, user support, troubleshooting, and enhancement requests related to the ERP system and other home-grown applications. Key duties include analysing business requirements and proposing innovative technology solutions for application development and enhancement, developing integrations between the Banner System and other applications, systems, and platforms, as well as creating APIs, automated workflows, and electronic forms to improve operational efficiency. The role also involves developing reports, dashboards, and data extraction solutions to support management decision-making, collaborating with various offices and stakeholders to implement digital transformation initiatives, and ensuring application security, data integrity, and compliance with the Academy’s policies and industry best practices. In addition, the incumbent will perform other IT administrative and support duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirement:
(a) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
(b) Normally, a minimum 7 years' relevant experience in application development and enterprise systems support.
(c) Solid hands-on experience in modern application development technologies, including:
    - JavaScript / TypeScript
    - React.js, Angular and/or React Native
    - Node.js
    - Java, Python, Kotlin, Go or Swift.
(d) Experience in RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Webhooks, Microservices Architecture and System Integration.
(e) Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub and DevOps practices.
(f) Strong knowledge of relational databases, including Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL.
(g) Experience in cloud platforms, workflow automation, and low-code/no-code technologies such as Microsoft Power Platform will be an advantage.
(h) Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and secure application development.
(i) Demonstrated experience in managing application development and enhancement projects throughout the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirement gathering, business analysis, solution design, system development, integration, testing (SIT/UAT), documentation, version control, deployment, release management, and post-implementation support.
(j) Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with users.
(k) Experience with the ERP System “Ellucian Banner” is highly desirable. 
(l) Experience in the tertiary education sector or large-scale institutions will be an advantage.
(m) Strong proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
(n) Be self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple projects, with strong organisational and leadership skills.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a two-year renewable contract, subject to performance and mutual agreement.  A gratuity payment may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. The starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
