The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts welcomes the initiatives related to the arts, culture, and higher education sectors outlined in the Chief Executive’s 2025 Policy Address. These measures reflect a strong strategic vision for reinforcing Hong Kong’s long-term development, and we are confident that they will generate lasting and impactful value while driving further progress across the performing arts, culture, and higher education fields.
Being the only higher education institution offering professional training and education in Performing Arts, the Academy appreciates the Government’s commitment to establishing Hong Kong as an international education hub. Initiatives such as relaxing admission restrictions for self-financing students and attracting outstanding international teaching and research talents and students align closely with our institutional vision. We fully support these policies, along with the proposal to increase the supply of student hostels, which will help attract more international students. The Academy is dedicated to ensuring that adequate resources are in place to support this expansion and to facilitate the government’s goal of integrating education, technology, and talent development.
As in the past four decades, the Academy will continue to play an integral role in supporting Hong Kong as an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange. We remain committed to continuously refining our programmes to keep pace with the evolving needs of the performing arts and cultural sectors. As a leading performing arts education institution, we reaffirm our dedication to artistic excellence and innovation in education and promotion of arts and culture. The Academy will continue to uphold the highest standards in nurturing and inspiring the next generation of artists in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and beyond.
