HKAPA’s School of Drama Presents Luna Gale

The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) will stage Luna Gale by Rebecca Gilman next week at the Academy Studio Theatre. All tickets have already sold out.

 

Described by the Los Angeles Times as one of the most valuable recent additions to American drama, Luna Galetells the story of seasoned social worker Caroline, who is handling a case of young drug-addicted couple Peter and Karlie and their neglected baby daughter. When Caroline hands baby Luna to Karlie’s mother, a family war breaks out, pushing everyone towards a maniacal, dangerous decision…

 

The Academy’s School of Drama lecturer and alumnus Terence Chang is the director of the play. “Luna Gale is Rebecca Gilman’s recent hit which has been performed in many states of the US. It touches on many social issues that are concerned by all walks of life, and the play is widely accepted.” He explained.

She is an Artistic Associate at the Goodman Theatre, Chicago, where Luna Gale received its world premiere in 2014.
