The Academy Received Support from Fubon Bank (Hong Kong) Limited as Title Sponsor of Lincoln Center Chamber Music Series 2024
Following the resounding success of last year's concert series by the Chamber Music Society (CMS) of Lincoln Center, the Academy is very honoured to have CMS’ return to the Academy to present music concerts again this year. As one of the major celebratory events marking the 40th Anniversary of the Academy, the concerts of CMS were held successfully on 23, 25 and 26 October 2024 at the Academy’s Concert Hall. The Academy is also grateful to the generous support of Fubon Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (Fubon Bank) as the Title Sponsor of the concerts, supporting the “3I Fund” for building an interdisciplinary, intercultural, and internationalized campus.

Meeting of awardees of the "Louis Koo Scholarships" with Mr. Louis Koo
Six students of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (the Academy) who are awarded the "Louis Koo Scholarship" in the 2023/24 academic year, along with Mr. Benny Chan, Lecturer (Sound-Film/TV) of the School of Film and Television, and Ms Jessie Law, Head of Development and Alumni Affairs met with Mr. Louis Koo on 18 July 2024.

HKAPA Ignites Cultural Exchange and Nurtures Young Musicians through the Greater Bay Area Youth Orchestra
The opening concert of the Greater Bay Area Youth Orchestra (GBAYO) Concert Tour 2024 was successfully held at HKAPA on July 8. Officiating guests included Mr. Raistlin Lau JP, Acting Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the HKSAR Government; Mr. Charles Yang BBS JP, Council Chairman of HKAPA; Professor Gillian Choa, Director of HKAPA; and Mr. Guy Bradley, Chairman of Swire Pacific Limited. The orchestra will depart from Hong Kong and bring its melodious music to audiences in Macau, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, fostering artistic and cultural exchange as well as contributing to the arts development in the Greater Bay Area.
Prof. Gillian Choa, Director of HKAPA, remarks, “Following the resounding success of last year's debut concert, we are pleased to once again bring the enchantment of music to the public by the Academy's School of Music and our institutional partners in the Greater Bay Area, including Xinghai Conservatory of Music and The Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra Association. Echoing the Year of the Dragon, symbolising wisdom, prosperity and success, this year's concert is titled Romancing the Dragon. With a captivating blend of classical and contemporary pieces, we hope to create a symphonic journey for the audiences near and far to immerse in the essence of the dragon’s spirits and amazing energy. As a higher education institution dedicated to fostering performing artists and cultural leaders, the GBAYO aims to provide a platform for the highest standard of classical orchestral performance in the region, nurturing young talents through professional training and coaching by world-renowned musicians. I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the HKSAR Government for being a supporting organisation of the concert tour this year. Donation of Sculptures from Renowned Artist Professor Hon Bing-wah
The Academy has received a donation of two sculptures, “The Musician” and “The Dancer”, from renowned artist Professor Hon Bing-wah. Professor Gillian Choa, Academy Director, expressed her gratitude to Professor Hon for his donation of his masterpieces.

The opening concert of Lincoln Center Chamber Music Series presented by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts was held successfully on 29 November 2023 at the Academy Concert Hall.
