Meeting of Awardees of Louis Koo Scholarships 2024/25 with Donor Mr. Louis Koo
Mr. Louis Koo, the Academy’s Honorary Fellow, has been dedicated to supporting the development of performing arts in Hong Kong and nurturing performing arts young talents. He has generously donated to the Academy in 2022/23 to establish "Louis Koo Performing Arts Fund" to provide scholarships and grants for graduation projects of Academy students.

Swire and HKAPA renew partnership on the Greater Bay Area Youth Orchestra to foster musical and cultural exchange across the GBA
The Greater Bay Area Youth Orchestra (GBAYO), presented by The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) and supported by the Swire Group as Founding Patron, has returned with live performances in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shenzhen from 11th to 15th July.

The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Celebrates 40 Years of Excellence with Anniversary Celebration Banquet
The 40th Anniversary Celebration Banquet of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) was successfully held on Friday, 27 June 2025, at the Convention Hall of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, marking the grand finale of its milestone celebrations. The banquet drew over 700 distinguished guests, including Government officials, past and present Academy Council members, management, staff, students, alumni, donors, and supporters, uniting to honour four decades of remarkable achievements in performing arts education.

The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Held the Naming Ceremony of “William Au Concert Hall” in Recognition of the Generous Support from Mr William Au SBS JP
The Concert Hall of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (the Academy) has been named after Mr William Au SBS JP as “William Au Concert Hall”, in appreciation of his long-term support.
To recognise Mr Au’s tremendous support, the Naming Ceremony of William Au Concert Hall was held on 19 May 2025 (Friday). The Ceremony was officiated by Mr William Au SBS JP and his family. It was also attended by the Academy Council Chairman, Mr Charles Yang BBS JP and the Academy Director, Professor Anna CY Chan.

Microfilm Student Projects of the School of Film and Television Awarded “AR Charitable Foundation Microfilm Prize”
The selection interview of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts’ "AR Charitable Foundation Microfilm Prize" was held on 21 December 2024. Members of the judging panel included Mr. Edwin Chan, Director of AR Charitable Foundation, Dr. Terry Lam, Acting Dean of the School of Film and Television of the Academy, Mr. Mandrew Kwan, Lecturer (Production Management, Interdisciplinary Projects and Partnerships) and Mr. Sunny Chan, Lecturer (Screenwriting and Creative Development). Two microfilm student projects of the School of Film and Television have been selected to receive the Prize to support the production and screening of projects.
AR Charitable Foundation has been dedicated to supporting the development of performing arts in Hong Kong and nurturing performing arts young talents. The Foundation has generously donated to the Academy to establish "AR Charitable Foundation Microfilm Prize " in the 2024/25 academic year to support students of the School of Film and Television to produce microfilms with theme of "Building a Caring and Trusting Community", "Creating a Harmonious Society," or “Social Cohesion and Inclusion”. Through the microfilms produced by Academy students with the supported of the Prize, the Academy and the Foundation will jointly promote the message of social caring and inclusion to the larger community.
