Reporting to the Principal Head (Campus Development and Operations), the Head of Venue Performance is responsible for the commercial operations of the Academy’s Venue Hire, Front of House and Box Office activities.  This role oversees venue commercial operations, managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders including hirers, potential hirers, and the Academy’s Schools and Departments. Furthermore, the appointee will develop and implement venue hiring strategies to optimize performance venue operations and enhance guest experience.    
 

Applicants should have:
(a)  a relevant degree in Performing Arts, Marketing, Tourism and Event  Management or related disciplines;
(b)  at least 10 years of solid experience, including 5 years at management level in performance venue management;
(c)  high level of business management, commercial operations and financial  skills with a commitment of achieving outstanding results and driving revenue in commercial performance venue hire;
(d)  good understanding of the local and international performance venue market  landscape;
(e)  relevant proven experience in developing, executing and reviewing venue  operational procedures in compliance with applicable licensing requirements and legal contract administration; 
(f)  good knowledge of venue hire, front-of-house, box office and event operation; 
(g) attention to details;
(h) strong interpersonal  and professional customer services skills;
(i)  strong organizational and pro-active problem-solving skills; and 
(j)  good command of English and Chinese.  Proficiency in Putonghua would be  an advantage.


TERMS OF APPOINTMENT 
Appointment will be on a two-year renewable contract, subject to performance and mutual agreement.  A gratuity payment up to 15% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period, may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. The starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A non-accountable Cash Allowance will be provided to the eligible appointee.
